I am pleased to be able to provide this update now that we have entered Phase 1 of re-opening and the Province has released its directive with respect to restarting non-emergency procedures.

Based on the Provincial planning approach, the guidelines set out by my governing body and the requirements and advice of public health authorities, I determined that I was ready to begin a measured reopening as of June 9th, 2020.

This, however, does not means a return to normal. I have made a number of necessary changes to the experience of attending the clinic and to treatment protocols. These changes will be reviewed in detail with all clients before their appointment but some of the most notable include the following:

  • The office will be accessible by appointment only with no walk-in traffic of any kind;
  • There will be no patient cross-over. Sufficient time will be allocated to every patient to ensure that that the clinic is empty when you arrive and for the duration of your visit;
  • Anyone attending the office will be required to answer a number of screening questions and must wear a mask or face covering (we have masks if you do not); and
  • We will not be performing any aerosol generating procedures for the time-being (Such procedures include polishing and ultrasonic scaling).

Please do not hesitate to contact us directly if you have any questions or would like more information regarding care or our latest clinic protocols.

Requests for new appointments can be made as per usual and we will do our best to accommodate timing, however, as noted above I have reduced the number of potential appointment times available during a week to allow for longer appointment windows and more time between patients.

Kind Regards, Mardi Frise, RDH
